It's For The Kids!
Well, we're looking at sponsoring a charity for the 2009 edition. Really. Children's Hospital in Madison.
But in the meantime, this is an actual photo from Saturday morning at the 2nd Annual HBBTPC. Yes, those people are really doing push-ups. Yes, they're in the middle of Pier Plaza. And yes, this was about ten bars in.

Second Annual Hermosa Beach Big Ten Pub Crawl
Another year, another pub crawl! The second annual was at least as much fun as the first.
Our remarkably enthusiastic staff was up early (like 8:00 early!!) for sign-ins and lanyard distribution . . .
. . . and were met by plenty of willing drinkers at Hennessey's for some pre-crawl bloody mary's.
Aloha Sharkeez was a new stop on the crawl this year, and a popular one thanks to the always refreshing communal Big Blue UM shark tank. Seriously, who doesn't like shoving a straw into an electric blue drink at ten in the morning with twelve of your closest midwest friends?
Minnesota takes over Malloy's.

The Indiana banner went missing during the crawl - this intrepid Hoosier tracked it down and brought it back to its home bar - Barnacles.
Note the diverse crowd at the Purdue bar - Shark's Cove. Note the guy in white with a drinking glove. Note the guy in red trying to choke down a Boilermaker.
Classy.

Ladies and gentlemen, it's your Gold Team Leader, Blue Team Leader, Red Team Leader, and Green Team Leader. Red Team Leader has apparently been drinking. Nice security jackets, gents.

Five Suggestions for a Successful Big Ten Pub Crawl
WE HAVE A TREMENDOUS RESPONSE FROM MIDWEST FOLK so please see below to help make this another fun & festive Saturday crawl.
1. Be Punctual. Due to numbers, we are having a shotgun start at various bars so highly encouraged to arrive 8:30am at Hennesseys to check in, grab your lanyard, and join a crawl team as the games begin promptly at 9am.
2. Pay as you go. Each drink is between $3-$5, so bring CASH $1s and $5s for faster ordering & tipping.
3. Wear your school colors, comb your hair, and bring a camera as want to post quality photos after the event.
4. While all of the bars are expecting us, be aware that we will likely overwhelm them with our good looks and sheer numbers.
5. Don’t Drink and Drive. Get a driver, take a Taxi, stay at a Hotel, or even hook up with a local.
